Services - Debt Collection
If everyone who owed you money paid on time, you probably would not have an overdraft! Your cash flow would not be a problem - but this is real life.
There are many reasons for non-payment. Some large organisations are just inefficient, some organisations have genuine problems and some simply won’t pay.
Our job starts before the debt starts. If you are a Business, we can review your terms of business. For instance you can put in contractual arrangements for interest to be payable to you if payment is not made on time or put in a ‘title retention clauses’ which may mean you can recover your goods if they are not paid for.
We can advise you on vetting clients before you do business with them. This may stop you doing work for an organisation which is financially unsound.
We can check your credit control procedures and write letters to bad payers for before action for you. We can help resolve genuine disputes with customers and if necessary take matters through Court for you and we can enforce a Judgement of the Court for you. You probably think debt collection is the worst part of your job. We love it and if we are successful you will almost certainly recover more than our fees – but we cannot guarantee success.
If you are an individual, your dispute will probably be with an individual or business or maybe a family member you have leant money to. It will be much more personal and will probably cause you much distress. It may be a ‘Matter of Principle’ but that is rarely a sound basis for legal action. The legal procedures adopted are the same whether the debt is personal or commercial but we will be sensitive to your personal relationships, so far as we can whilst doing all we can to recover the money or goods for you.
